Our Philosophy

Early childhood experiences greatly influence a child’s self-esteem, ability to trust, and attitude toward learning. The Child Development Center of Central (CDC) seeks to support each child’s positive growth and development by providing an environment that is healthy, safe, loving, and stimulates cognitive thinking.
The CDC recognizes children as active learners who need active experiences with the world of people and things, as well as opportunities to plan, set goals, and assume responsibility.
Our classroom schedules, learning centers, furnishings, and playground allow children to explore, discover, and learn through developmentally appropriate activities.
We strive for a high-quality experience for young children and follow the guidelines recommended by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC.)
Purpose
As a community ministry of Central Presbyterian Church, the purpose of the CDC is to provide childcare in downtown Atlanta that is designed to promote a child’s social, psychological, and cognitive growth in a safe and nurturing setting.
Mission
The CDC develops collaborative relationships among parents, children, staff, and the community, and provides support to families through education, consultation, and care.
